Projects: The Neuroophthalmology Research Group is working on the development of an easy and reproducible way to measure venous outflow pressure of the central retinal vein together with researchers from the RWTH Aachen Institute for Materials in Electrical Engineering IWE. Measuring venous outflow pressure allows indirect and non invasive assessment of intracranial pressure levels. Available measuring techniques are time consuming and not easy to handle. We are working on a new registration technique to make the investigation quick and comfortable.
Another project is the registration of changes in brain activity of the occipital pole after macular rotation with functional MRI together with Dr. Markus Wilms, Forschungszentrum Jülich and Prof. Gereon Fink, Department of Neurology, University Clinic Aachen.
